Using Email Catchalls

Setting Up Email Catch-All Addresses

Email catch-all addresses allow you to forward all emails sent to non-existent user accounts. This feature is useful when you have a domain and want to ensure that any email sent to an unknown user account is still delivered.

Step 1: Log in to the Client Portal

First, log in to your ServerStream Client Portal with your username and password. Make sure you’re logged in as a user with sufficient permissions to manage email settings.

Step 2: Access Email Settings

In the Client Portal, navigate to the Email section. You’ll find this option in the top navigation menu or by searching for ’email’ in the search bar.

Step 3: Configure Catch-All Address

  1. Select your domain from the list of available domains.
  2. Click on the ‘Email Forwarding’ tab.
  3. In the ‘Catch-All Addresses’ section, click the ‘Add Catch-All Address’ button.
  4. Enter the email address you want to use as the catch-all address (e.g., [email protected]). Make sure this address exists in your mailbox list.
  5. Choose the forwarding action: either forward all emails or discard them. If you choose to forward, select an existing mailbox or create a new one to receive these forwarded emails.

Common Problems

  • Emails not being delivered: Ensure the catch-all address exists in your mailbox list and is properly configured. Also, verify that you haven’t exceeded the mailbox quota for this account.
  • Spam emails getting through: Consider enabling spam filters or adjusting your email forwarding settings to prevent unwanted emails from reaching your users’ inboxes.
